Display campaign triples University’s Engineering program web traffic

Background:

The client was seeking to create an out-of-state digital ad campaign for the college’s Transportation Engineering program. Their goal was to build awareness by increasing web traffic. This would allow them to drive more prospective students and applicants to their website in order to learn more about the program and potentially apply.

Strategy:

To reach our target audience of college intenders and high schoolers, we ran a Display campaign. We geo-targeted a list of mass transit cities and urban areas, and targeted Behavioral categories such as College Intenders, High-schoolers, and Parents of High-schoolers. With this combination of Geo-Targeting and Behavioral Targeting, we would ultimately maximize our chances of serving ads to those who would be most likely to convert, which in this case would be landing on the client’s website and learning more about the program.

Results:

The Display campaign proved successful immediately. Within the first week, the program’s website traffic tripled and was higher overall for the year when compared to years prior. In addition, the Admissions team was able to confirm that several applicants attributed our ad campaign to them discovering and applying for the program. Originally a 4-month campaign targeting prospective students over the summer for their fall semester, the client renewed the campaign 7 more months due to the success of the campaign.
